Theme: Improving Capacity for Service Delivery in Foreign Services for staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The PS Ministry of Foreign Affairs represented by the Under Secretary, Mr. Stephen Kyatelekara

The training covers aspects at the office and at the individual level which help to team build their career development and embrace other sources of income.

The Principal National Farmers’ Leadership Centre, represented by Deputy Principal Mr. Edison Hilman – mandate is to train Ugandans in Mindset and for such a group the Centre focuses on productivity in terms of work, customer care, and individual lifestyles. The training also teaches that one can use the morning hours to attend to small enterprises like mushrooms and then proceed to work. It also teaches exemplary leadership and also uses the available means and resources to do agriculture. In terms of foreign affairs, the team should understand what Uganda stands for and what should we sell outside Uganda. The training helps them to understand also as a country, where did it go wrong?, why do Ugandans behave the way they do?, and why are Ugandans corrupt and lazy? What can Ugandans do to bring back the image to thing Uganda, think African, and sell our culture to the outside countries?

Uganda needs a relationship with other countries as partners by promoting productivity, not benefactors where we accept donations.

At the closing of the 5 days training, the Commission HR, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Herbert Kiguli appreciated the PS Ministry of Foreign Affairs for availing resources to facilitate the training. He argued the team to practice and pass on the knowledge as they go back to their various offices and homes.
