The agricultural communities in Muyira parish face challenges like poor farming practices, limited knowledge access, and insufficient exposure to modern agriculture techniques. This negatively impacts people’s livelihoods. NFLC Project II addresses this by implementing a capacity-building program focusing on mindset change and agricultural technologies. This initiative reduces the information gap among farmers, bringing NFLC closer to rural communities and enhancing household incomes and living conditions.
The project targets over 100 farmers in four beneficiary groups across villages like Muyira, Bwansule, Nabyewanga, and Mbute. Training emphasizes mindset change and agricultural production, integrating crosscutting issues like gender, climate change, and ICT for a comprehensive approach. Initiation training sessions help groups understand their current mindsets, challenges, and plans. Additionally, members are trained, capacitated, and facilitated to establish functional farmer field schools, promoting agriculture and community development.
