SACI Mushroom Producers Association Visits NFLC to Explore Strategic Partnership

On Tuesday, 17th February 2026, the National Farmers Leadership Centre (NFLC) was delighted to host a delegation from the SACI Mushroom Producers Association. The visiting team comprised ten representatives acting on behalf of the Association’s 355 members.

The delegation was led by the Association President, Ms. Najjuuko Racheal, who explained that the purpose of their courtesy visit was to explore appropriate technologies being showcased at NFLC, identify ways in which their members could benefit from the Centre’s services, and discuss potential areas of partnership to advance the mushroom industry in Uganda.

Also present during the visit was Princess Pauline Nassolo, who oversees the Presidential Demonstration Farms, which integrate mushroom enterprises as part of their diversified agricultural operations

The Principal of NFLC warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for their interest in collaborating with the Centre. He highlighted several potential areas of cooperation between NFLC and SACI Mushroom Producers Association. These include:

  1. Training Association members in mindset change and adoption of modern production technologies, leveraging NFLC’s experienced trainers and well-established demonstration and training facilities.
  2. Production and supply of high-quality mushroom spawn through the Centre’s well-equipped laboratory dedicated to mushroom research and spawn production.
  3. Joint participation in organizing and showcasing products at trade shows and agricultural exhibitions to promote the mushroom industry.
  4. Strengthening value chain development through knowledge sharing and technical support.

The delegation was later taken on a guided tour of the mushroom production section, where the Mushroom Instructor showcased the various technologies and best practices being implemented at the Centre. The visit concluded with a shared understanding and consensus on the need to strengthen collaboration for the growth and sustainability of the mushroom sector in Uganda.

NFLC looks forward to working closely with SACI Mushroom Producers Association to enhance skills development, improve production standards, and contribute to the expansion of Uganda’s mushroom industry.
